PhD project: " Characterization of Arbutus unedo genotypes for sustainable land and fruit production management: drought tolerance, fruit quality and postharvest physiology "
I am a PhD student in Agricultural and Environmental Sciences at DAGRI (University of Florence). After earning my Master’s degree in Environmental Biology and Ecosystem Management at the University of L’Aquila, I focused my research path on plant ecophysiology. During my experimental thesis, I investigated the use of halotolerant PGPB (Plant Growth-Promoting Bacteria) to mitigate salt stress in Phaseolus vulgaris L., exploring the complexities of plant-microbe interactions. A research period at Lund University (Sweden) allowed me to integrate plant-pollinator ecology and a trait-based approach into my work. Currently, my research focuses on the physiology of Arbutus unedo L., aiming to investigate water stress tolerance mechanisms, fruit quality determinants, and post-harvest physiological dynamics
