PhD Student at the University of Florence, where he carries out his research activity in the Agricultural Genetics Group of the Department of Agricultural, Food, Environmental and Forestry Sciences and Technologies (DAGRI). His PhD project is focused on the application of genomic and biotechnological approaches for the development of Rhizobium-based bioinoculants, aimed at improving chickpea cultivation under water stress (drought) conditions. Previously, he held the role of Research Fellow at the Institute of Agricultural Biology and Biotechnology (IBBA) of the CNR in Milan (2024), where he worked in the field of plant genomics, with particular attention to water-use efficiency and drought tolerance. His activities included the phenotypic characterization and mapping of traits related to maize cuticular permeability (MAGICOAT project) and the investigation of certain proteins expressed in Arabidopsis thaliana stomatal guard cells. He obtained a master’s degree in Agricultural Science and Technology from the University of Bologna (2022), where he developed a thesis on understanding the genetic control of characters that influence root architecture in barley (Hordeum vulgare L.). His expertise ranges from plant genetics to molecular biology (DNA/RNA extractions, PCR), to phenotyping in phytotrons, greenhouses, and fields, also gained through experience as a Breeder Assistant at Nunhems Italy S.r.l. (2023), where he worked within the tomato breeding program.
