PhD project: "Aromatic plants of the Tuscan archipelago: chemical characterization and agronomic performance for the conservation stategies and adaptation to climate change"

Research interests: I am studying phytochemical and morphological characteristic of Tuscan Archipelago wild aromatic plants. In particular, my study is focused to describe aromatic profile of Helichrysum italicum and Helichrysum litoreum essential oil wild populations. Final aim is starting a domestication of peculiars phyto-morphotypes for aromatic and medicinal uses.

Profile

My name is Lorenzo Marini, I was born in Rome on February 29th 1992.

In 2011 I moved to Florence for studying and in 2014 I had the privilege to live an Erasmus experience at University of Aberdeen, Scotland. At the end of 2014 I gained a bachelor’s degree with a with a thesis on organic grain management.

I continued my studies at Agricultural Sciences and Technologies at University of Florence. In 2017 I gained master’s degree with a two-years study on phytochemicals and morphological traits of Italian wild hops (Humulus lupulus L.).
